Bill Day, Chief Executive Officer
Bill is a notable digital media veteran renowned for building interactive businesses that bring value to the industry. In his role as CEO of ScanScout, Bill leads the company’s strategic development and business operations.
Prior to joining ScanScout, Bill was the Chief Media Officer of Marchex, a leader in local consumer search and a leading local merchant ad platform. Bill also served as CEO for MeMedia, the behavioral targeting firm. Other career achievements include holding the titles of CEO and President for About.com, the largest content destination on the Internet. Bill co-founded the company in June 1996, led its success from inception to the company's IPO and eventual sale to Primedia in 2000. Bill also served in a variety of senior leadership roles at Prodigy, responsible for building many of the online services in common use today.
Bill received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Yale University, and his M.B.A. with distinction from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is based in New York City.
Waikit Lau, Co-Founder and President
Waikit has extensive experience building emerging media businesses and technologies. Prior to co-founding ScanScout, Waikit was the Director of Strategy and Business Development at Scientific Atlanta (a division of Cisco) where he helped lead product strategy for next-generation media delivery platforms. Before Scientific Atlanta, he was an investor at Bessemer Venture Partners, investing in and working with early-stage technology companies. Prior to serving as a VC, Waikit co-founded Photo.net, one of the largest online photo-databases and served as its VP of Product and Business Development. He has also consulted to the CTO and COO of Technology at Merrill Lynch in the technology strategy and operation areas. Waikit holds Bachelors degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Finance from MIT and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He also serves on Harvard University’s Digital Community and Social Networking Advisory Group. He is based in Boston, MA.
Steven Lee, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
As Co-Founder and CTO of ScanScout, Steven leads the vision and growth of the company's technology operations. He is passionate about solving tough problems with practical business value. Before starting ScanScout, Steven held technical leadership positions at Aliaswire (VP Engr), Bose (Principal Architect), and SpeechWorks (Senior Mgr). At Bose Corporation, Steven led the company.s efforts to define a speech strategy for its automotive products. At Speechworks International (now Nuance), Steven led a team of doctorate-level researchers, linguists, and field managers in development and support of speech recognition products and solutions for Asia Pacific markets, earning the company.s "Best Practices," "Teamworks," and "Rock of Gibraltar" awards for his efforts. Steven received his M. Eng. and his S.B both from MIT, where he served as president of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, as well as Vice President of the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society.
Jason Krebs, Executive Vice President
Prior to joining ScanScout, Jason was co-founder of ShortTail Media a leading video technology provider. Before that Jason was the VP/Interactive at Condé Nast Media Group where he was responsible for managing corporate advertising sales and marketing. Previously, Jason was the VP of Sales and Marketing at NYTimes.com, where he managed marketing services, advertising revenue and classifieds. In other roles he served as VP/General Manager of classifieds for both NYTimes.com and Boston.com. From 1998 to 2000, Krebs served as VP/General Manager for newyorktoday.com and was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the site. Previously, Krebs served as Managing Director of national ad sales for The New York Times on the Web. Jason received his BS from West Virginia University.
Adam Lichstein, Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Adam has worked with innovative media and technology companies over the last 10 years in various leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer of ShopText, a mobile commerce and promtions platform. Prior to ShopText, he was General Counsel & Head of Corporate Development for MeMedia, the behavioral targeting firm. From 1998-2003, Adam was a member of the executive team at Razorfish, a leading digital agency, where he served as Managing Director of the company.s east coast region. Adam began his career as an associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP, the global law firm.
Jed Savage, Chief Revenue Officer
In his role of Chief Revenue Officer, Jed leads the company's revenue generating operations.
Prior to joining ScanScout, Jed served as Director of Business Development for eBay's strategic partnerships unit where he created programs for marketers to reach eBay's 55M+ monthly users. He also opened eBay's eastern office, overseeing its national strategic partnerships. Jed's other career achievements include serving as GM of Sales for Microsoft's MSN division and VP of Sales for CBS Sportsline. Prior to CBS, Jed was the founding Sales Director for Juno Online Services, where he developed one of the industry's first digital media sales organizations.
In 2004, Jed was named one of MEDIA Week Magazine's 50 People You Should Know in Digital Media. He is based in New York City.
Lynne Lipinsky, Vice President, Finance
In her role as Vice President, Finance for ScanScout, Lynne leads the vision and growth of the company's financial operations.
Lynne has extensive experience building strong financial environments for technology companies. Prior to joining ScanScout, Lynne was the Corporate General Manager/Director of Finance at ILOG Inc (formerly Logic Tools) where she helped lead the financial strategy for the business pre and post acquisition. Before ILOG, she served as Senior Manager/M&A and Financial Analyst at Macromedia Inc (formerly Allaire Corp), developing and implementing processes that contributed to the company's growth. Lynne's career also includes key financial management roles at Kirkwood Distributors and Advanced Automation.
Lynne holds Bachelors degrees from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Northeastern University. She is based in Boston, MA.
Steve Carter, Senior Vice President, Operations and Platform
In his role as Senior Vice President, Operations and Platform for ScanScout, Steve leads the operations and client services teams and oversees planning and release activities for the company's product offerings.
Steve has more than 10 years experience in product development and operations. Prior to joining ScanScout, Steve was the VP, Product Development at Specific Media, Inc., where he led the development of their ad serving platform and targeting technologies. Prior to Specific Media, Steve was the VP, Network Operations at ValueClick, Inc., where he created their operations group from the ground up and helped drive them to a successful IPO in 2000.
